Dec
  • Dec. 2, 2010 – Career & Education Fair @ the Abbotsford Tradex.  Gr. 10 planning classes will leave PMSS @ 8:30am and return @ 12:00pm.
  • Winter Wonderland event cancelled this year for arena renovation.  Volunteer opportunities will be available again Dec 2011
  • Christmas in the City Event being held Dec. 3, 2010 @ Pitt Meadows Recreation Centre.  Volunteers needed , sign up in the Career Centre.

  • Science World placements available – visit the Career Centre for dates.
  • Intro to Policing course Cost in 2010 was $125.00, will confirm cost for 2011 when details provided. The course consists of nine sessions (seven Monday evenings and two Saturdays) at the Coquitlam RCMP Detachment, covering everything from General Duty, Dog Services, Traffic Services, Emergency Response to Forensic Identification.  The course runs from April thru May, cost $125 and the hours in service can be applied to Work Experience.
  • Hyde Creek Recreation Centre hosting Triathlon & Duathlon April 2011 – date to be confirmed.  Volunteer application available in Career Centre.
  • Ridge Meadows Hospital Summer VolunTEEN Program applications are now available in the Career Centre. This program only has the capacity to accommodate approximately 30 teens, so please apply as soon as you can. Each application must include two letters of reference.   Returning teens only need to submit an application form (no letters of reference are required). Applicants must be available to the orientation is June 29, 2010 at Ridge Meadows Hospital.

  • Davie Jones Elementary School Carnival volunteers needed from 9 am to 9 pm (shifts available).  Date to be confirmed
  • SOLDIER FOR A DAY Seaforth Highlander of Canada hosting a Soldier for a day program.  Introduction to the role of the Canadian Forces Army Reserve both here in Canada and around the World.  Open to students in Gr. 10 – 12. Visit the Career Centre for details and confirmation of date for 2011.by April 12.

  • LEAP Program  - Leadership Ecology Adventure Program applications are in the Career Centre.  Free program for BC students.  Apply ASAP!
