The Educational Facility Managers Assoc. of British Columbia is pleased to offer four $1000.00 bursaries to graduates of the 2016/17 school year.

Bursaries are offered to secondary students completing their grade 12 year who will enter a recognized post-secondary educational institution.  Bursaries will be awarded on the basis of academic achievement and/or special needs.

Preference will be given to students entering the fields of engineering, architecture, or building technology.  Should there not be suitable applications received in these fields, students in other courses of study will be considered, however, all applicants MUST be dependents of school district employees in the school plant area (i.e. Maintenance or Custodial).

Twenty TD Scholarships for Community Leadership are awarded to students in their last year of high school (outside Quebec) or CEGEP (in Quebec) who have demonstrated leadership in improving their community. Each scholarship has a value of up to $70,000.

TD Scholarships for Community Leadership are open to students across Canada who are in their final year of high school or CEGEP (in Quebec); have a minimum overall grade average of 75% in their most recently completed school year and have demonstrated community leadership.

About the Award… Living a Long Life to the Fullest The Stacey Levitt Memorial Award was created in memory and celebration of her life.  On August 30, 1995, Stacey was struck and killed by a car while jogging in North Toronto.  She was only 18 years old. Stacey loved life, and this annual student award encourages Canadian youth to embody Stacey’s qualities and ideals, and Parachute’s overarching goal of a long life lived to the fullest, while maintaining an approach that is rooted in risk management and injury prevention.  The selected recipient will receive $2,500 to do just that.

Eligibility: The award is open to anyone currently attending a Canadian secondary school.   The successful recipient will be selected by the Levitt family and announced on April 30, 2018. BC School Sports Scholarships is please to announce a Dave Gifford Memorial Scholarship.  There will be two scholarships of $500 each that will be awarded to one male and one female student who truly excels as a student-athlete.   Applicants must have competed in at least two BCSS approved sports during grade 12. Unsuccessful applicants for the Dave Gifford Memorial Scholarship will automatically be considered for their respective Zone Scholarship. (Please do not complete two applications)

BC School Sports Scholarships also has a Zone Scholarship.  Applicants must have competed in at lease one BCSS approved sport during grade 12.  They must be enrolled in a BC School who are graduating this year and will be entering thru first year of full-time studies in a Canadian University or College.  Applicants must have demonstrated exceptional athletic achievement in a BCSS sanctioned sport, have a minimum grade percentage of 75% and have demonstrated outstanding service and leadership in school and/or community. Two scholarships for $500 will be awarded (one male an one female).

BC Dairy Association Scholarships (2 x $500)

To qualify, applicants must have competed in BCSS approved sports.  The student-athlete who exemplifies school spirit, practice a healthy lifestyle, and engage with their community. Student-athletes who have participated in girls and boys soccer are eligible to apply for this scholarship.  Visit

Maple Ridge Choral Society Award  Value: $200

Description: MRCS is an inclusive, non-auditioning adult choir. Our repertoire includes choral music, popular music and everything in between. This award was established to encourage students pursuing a career in voice.

Eligibility: Available to any student in Grade 12 who is graduating from a School District 42 secondary school.


  1. be attending an accredit post-secondary institution
  2. provide a letter outlining current experience and future aspirations in voice

The John Anderson family funds an annual $5,000 scholarship awarded to a young aspiring BC Pilot, aged 16-19. The Deadline has been extended, therefore nominations close May 31 of each year. Nomination form and criteria attached.

 BC Aviation Council members recognize the financial pressures faced by students pursuing studies in aviation and aerospace, and the BCAC provides scholarships and awards for students on an annual basis.

June 30, 2017 – The BC Sports Hall of Fame and Museum awards two Jack Farley Youth Sports Achievement Awards.

These scholarships are awarded to one outstanding male and one outstanding female amateur athlete graduating from a BC secondary school.

These students will excel in a particular sport and exemplify the values, commitment and contribution to the community held by Jack Farley, an honoured member of the BC Sports Hall of Fame and Museum. Winners will receive $2,000, which is to be applied to their education at a post-secondary institution here in British Columbia. Applicants must be graduating from grade 12 and demonstrate that they plan to attend a registered college or university in British Columbia within 12 months of graduation.

TCF – Cmolik Foundation Award Scholarship 

Applications must be received by the Foundation by February 15 of each year.

Students who have lived in British Columbia for at least seven years and have experienced adversity in their lives are eligible to apply. They may not have top grades through high school but must be capable of succeeding at the post-secondary level.

In order to be eligible for a TCF Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be a BC resident for at least 7 years,
  • Be in Grade 12 or a recent secondary school graduate,
  • Have demonstrated financial need,
  • Have faced adversity,
  • Plan to be a full-time student,
  • Use funding for a post-secondary institution, trade or college, and
  • Be endorsed by their school principal.

March 29th, 2018- Kwantlen Polytechnic University Entrance Scholarships and Awards for 2017 enrolment is available.

Students who are being admitted to KPU for the first time in the Fall 2017 or Spring 2018 are invited to apply for entrance scholarships and awards. KPU offers two types:

Calculation of GPA

Calculation of Entrance Scholarship GPAs are based on grade 12 courses only.

Provincial Examinations and Approved Grade 12 Courses

UFV does not require provincial examinations, but high school graduation requires provincial exams in some subjects. If you wrote provincial exams, the higher of your school mark or your blended grade (school mark and provincial exam mark combined) is used for GPA calculation.

Supporting Documentation

Applications are not complete until all supporting documentation is submitted to the UFV Financial Aid and Awards office, on or before the application deadline. Please make sure you submit the following:

• Two current letters of recommendation
1. A letter from principal/vice principal/teacher/instructor
2. A letter from a person who can verify and comment on your participation in school or community activities

• Your current transcript. Mature students must submit a transcript showing most recently completed educational credits.

Erm Fiorillo – Hal Davis CKNW Orphans’ Fund Bursary at Simon Fraser University.  The bursary is valued at $24,000 per academic year for up to four years.  ($3,000 x 8 installments over 4 years max)

One bursary will be awarded annually, on the basis of demonstrated financial need, to an undergraduate student who is entering Simon Fraser University from a BC secondary school or college.

To be eligible, applicants must be a single parent. Regular secondary school applicants must have a minimum admissions average of 80% for the Faculty they have applied to (not rounded up) and IB diploma applicants must have the IB diploma score required for admission, and college applicants must have a minimum transfer GPA of 2.5 (not rounded up).

Dalhousie University Entrance Scholarship/Bursary deadline is March 15th (except Harrison McCain Scholarship due date March 1st).

To be eligible for entrance awards, students must:
– apply for admission to Dalhousie directly from high school (gap years are acceptable if the applicant has not attended another post-secondary institution)
– submit a complete application for admission by March 15
– submit a complete General Entrance Award application by March 15
– have a minimum 80% admission average or 26 predicted/anticipated IB Diploma points. The admission average is calculated based upon the five required courses for the program to which the student has applied.
